4th of July Fireworks

4th of July Fireworks will be held on Thursday, July 4th. Vendors and entertainment will be available and begin at 6:00 PM. Cost: Free.

Volunteer Information:

We are still in need of additional volunteers for this event, so if you have friends or family available to volunteer with you, that would be greatly appreciated!

Please dress for the weather and bring lots of water! In the event of weather related emergencies, the status of the event can be checked by calling the Newark Parks and Recreation Leisure Time Hotline at 302-366-7147 after 4 p.m. We will also send an email in the event of a cancelation or change for any reason. The Rain Date for this event is Friday, July 5. Please let us know if you are available or unavailable for this date rain date.

4th of July Fireworks & Liberty Day 
When: Thursday, July 4
Time: 6:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Where: University of Delaware Bob Carpenter Center Sports Complex, 631 South College Ave, Newark, DE 19711
Volunteer Role: Volunteers will help with set up, break down, directing parking, and assisting park staff.
Where to Sign In: All volunteers and staff should report to the Information Booth (Blue Tent) located in the grass area of the UD Athletic Complex (in front of the football field) to sign in / check in with staff. Please note- The location of this information area is different than in previous years. It is in the opposite corner closest to South College Ave. 
Who to Check In / Sign In with: Sharon Bruen, Recreation Supervisor and/or Paula Ennis, Deputy Director and/or Melinda Bertling 302-983-4784

What to wear: Volunteers will be given bright green vests to direct parking, if you own a vest or highlighter green shirt and would like to bring it, please do. Wear Comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Staff should wear their bright green staff shirts or their City of Newark Staff Shirts.
