Featuring the Emerson String Quartet and the Calidore String Quartet

SPECIAL EVENT: Tickets are $50 for all buyers

Entering its fifth year, The Art of the String Quartet is a Master Players tradition that brings many of today’s extraordinary string quartets to the tristate region. This year, we proudly present both the Emerson String Quartet and the Calidore String Quartet on our stage.

The Emerson String Quartet is regarded as one of the top string quartets in the world. The quartet has amassed an unparalleled list of achievements over four decades: more than thirty acclaimed recordings, nine Grammys (including two for Best Classical Album), three Gramophone Awards, the Avery Fisher Prize, Musical America’s “Ensemble of the Year,” and collaborations with many of the greatest artists of our time. As protégés of the Emerson Quartet, the Calidore String Quartet have established themselves as one of the finest chamber music ensembles performing today. The quartet has garnered the most prestigious prizes for chamber music in North America and Europe, including the 2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the $100,000 Grand-Prize of the 2016 M-Prize International Chamber Music Competition at the University of Michigan, the largest prize for chamber music in the world.

This concert is not eligible to be included in any season subscription.
